Comments (about baked potatoes):

" I love Wendy's baked potatoes and eat them often, but if you're sensitive to cross contamination like me, always ask them to put on fresh gloves before preparing the potato. I was having a reaction and then paid close attention to how the potato was made. They would make my husband's burger with bun and then unwrap, squeeze, and put toppings on my potato with the same gloves!" To SillyYaks group, 9/06

"I just ask for the potato uncut. They look at you weird, but do it.Then, get the butter, sour cream on the side. I watched them and they cut open the potatoes with a knife that went into a bin under the counter with other utensils. No telling what else they've cut with it OR other utensil it touched that is in the same bin. They also do not unwrap the potato, so you don't have to worry about it!

I've encountered a few Wendy's stores where the baked potatoes aren't cooked in foil. I took a risk, regretted it. Now I only order the potatoes if they're baked in foil and served to me uncut and in the wrapper. There's still a chance that the food prep person was handling buns before hand, but I usually luck out." 9/06

"The Wendy's I worked at they came already wrapped in foil in the cases. As long as you ask them to leave in the foil you should be safe as they are wrapped off site. I just ask them to change gloves and have not had a problem."
