- If you have not been seen at UCSD Medical Center (Hillcrest or La Jolla locations) before, call Pre-Registration, at 888-309-8273. Tell them you’d like to preregister for an upcoming appointment. They will collect your name, address, telephone, date-of-birth, insurance information, etc.
- To make an appointment with our adult Celiac Disease specialist, Dr. Gregory Harmon, call the UCSD Division of Gastroenterology’s scheduling line at 619-543-2347. Request an appointment with Dr. Harmon.
- They will likely ask that medical records be faxed in from your physician, and a referral be obtained from that physician if deemed necessary.
- Because Dr. Harmon sees patients one day per week, it is not uncommon for it to take 4-8 weeks for an appointment.
- Once you have an appointment scheduled and your records have been submitted, if you feel that the wait time is excessive, call Linda Nelson at the Warren Celiac Center at 858-822-1022. She will ask you some questions about your health and will then send Dr. Harmon a request to review your submitted medical records and assess whether getting you seen sooner is warranted and possible.
- To make an appointment with our pediatric Celiac Disease specialist and Pediatric Gastroenterologist, Dr. Kimberly Newton, call the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Department at Rady Children’s Hospital, at 858-966-4003, and press “2” after listening to the options. (Note: Dr. Newton does not have any available appointments between now and when she goes on maternity leave in early May. You may enquire about seeing another physician.)
- If prompted, leave your name and contact information (name, phone number, child’s name and date of birth) so that someone can call you back.
- If you do not hear back from someone in a timely fashion, call Linda Nelson at the Warren Celiac Center, at 858-822-1022.
- Be prepared to bring a copy of the patient's medical records with you to your appointment.
