From an email from Danielle in Frontier's Customer Service Response:

"We do not provide a gluten or allergy free statement for our products since the facility and production lines haven't been verified to run as such. We do follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices to minimize the potential for cross contamination but we do not test for the presence of allergens in our final product. "

From their website in the "Contact Us" section: "All of our single ingredient spices and herbs are gluten-free and 100% pure, with nothing added to them. All of our extracts, including Pure Vanilla, are also gluten-free. Some of our products do contain gluten, and this will be clearly listed in BOLD type within the ingredient statement. We do not maintain a list of gluten-free products, as our formulas change from time to time."

Further the website states: ""Old Bay does not contain gluten" and "All of our food color products are gluten-free" McCormicks

In response to a person asking about cc in 11/07: "Yes, some of our spices are processed in facilities that also process wheat products.However, as a responsible food company, our company follows the U.S. Food Drug & Cosmetic Act regulations to ensure consumer safety concerning food allergens.

In addition, we follow good manufacturing practices at our plants. Our employees are trained in the importance of correct labeling and the necessity of performing thorough equipment wash-downs to eliminate cross-contact of ingredients.

Although we cannot guarantee our products to be 100% free of allergens not listed on the label, we want you to know that we take this situation seriously and have taken extra precautions to eliminate the possibility of mislabeling or cross-contact." Ilene Miller, Consumer Affairs Specialist

Nielsen-Massey Fine Extracts 8/06 All of their vanilla and other fine extracts were certifed gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) in 8/06. Their labels will soon show the GFCO logo. In the FAQ section of their website they state "All Nielsen-Massey products are gluten free." www.nielsenmassey.com/faq.htm
Ortega Taco Seasoning 10/06 "The Ortega taco seasoning mix is gluten and dairy free." Sent by email from Customer Relations.
San-J Soy Sauce 8/06 San J International Organic Wheat Free Tamari Soy Sauce and the Organic Wheat Free Reduced Sodium Tamari Soy Sauce are both GF. These products will soon have the GFCO logo on their labels, showing that they have gone under careful scrutiny and found to be gluten free. www.san-j.com

"The Spice Hunter has several product lines: spice jars, extracts, meals in a cup, and hot beverage mixes. All of our products with the exception of our meals in a cup are gluten-free. We do not use fillers in our spices - we use only 100% spice ingredients!

All of our products are manufactured in the same building. We have an Allergen Control Program which prevents cross-contamination of allergens from our meal cups to our non-allergen products (all other Spice Hunter products)."
