Ruby's offer Udi's gluten-free hamburger buns as an option. They also will subsititute a fruit cup for the French fries (which are cooked in contaminated oil).

"My family ate at Ruby's in Oceanside on the pier on March 13, 2012 and my husband ordered the grilled portobello mushroom burger on the Udi's GF bun and we were pleasantly surprised to hear from our server that they will cook the fries in a separate fryer from the onion rings if requested. He was happy to be able to eat a burger and fries along with the rest of the family!"

"I learned from Udi's that they are supplying Ruby's diner with hamburger buns. I just went there with my husband after a movie today. I took a picture of the gluten free bun option from the menu since it is not on their website. Their fries are shared with their onion rings, but will happily substitute a fruit cup with the burger. It is always nice to pretend you're normal and eat a burger with a bun at a restaurant."

"I ate out at Ruby's diner, had a real GF hamburger bun, oh man, so good. Udi's gluten free bakery is supplying ALL the Ruby's Diners stores in CA with their GF buns ( they are also soy free - yeah). Excellent bun flavor and texture. Call ahead to make sure the location has them before you go. If they have them, say THANK YOU, we'll be right there! It will make a difference to the mgr for sure.
Ruby's in Oceanside CA on the pier nuked the frozen bun, then warmed it on the grill - delicious. The fries are not cooked in separate oil, so get fruit or mini salad instead. Be SURE to thank the server and the manager for carrying the GF buns - hopefully they will continue to keep them in their restaurants for us all. Enjoy a burger out - just like the rest of your family. Fun."
