Reminder: Menu items reported by each restaurant as gluten
free should only be considered as just a starting place for choosing items.

of being vigilant by always reconfirming the GF status of a menu item and
addressing cross-contamination issues each and every time.
On their website Cold Stone states "Cake Batter, Cinnamon bun, Cookie Dough, and Oatmeal Cookie Batter ice creams contain gluten. In adddition, any candies that have a flour companent to them also contain gluten. Although we take precautions by cleaning the mixing stone often, we cannot guarantee that residual products containing gluten will not accidentally be mixed into your ice cream."

The chart indicates that all of their sorbets and smoothie products and all of the other ice cream flavors except those listed above are gluten-free. But many add-ins contain gluten (as of 3/08).

"we go to cold stone all the time, of course we know the manager. they have a list of allergens in the back that they bring out for us or my store in Alaska does. they also mix the ice-cream in a bowl instead of the counter to prevent cross contamination. also they get new utensils. Now there is still a cross contamination issue with the ingredients or add ins so you have to be careful and make sure you pick one that isn't close to others that are really bad but we usually do just fine with all the precautions we take."

We have a newer one located near us in Branson, Missouri. We went in
a couple of weeks ago to get some ice cream and the young lady who waited
on us offered to use the stone that had not been used since they cleaned
them and she said that when we come in to ask them to use one of the cake
circles to lay on the stone to mix our ice cream with the toppings. We
had
just planned to have them put the ice cream in the cup and sprinkle the
toppings over the top, but this worked out great!
She also mentioned
that they had just discussed what to do earlier that day if someone
came in with food allergies. Kudos to Coldstone --- I think
that
they "get it"!!!
